    Description

    Thermochromic Sheets

These self-adhesive labels consist of a series of temperature-sensitive elements containing micro-encapsulated liquid thermochromic crystals, TLC, coated on a black backing. Each element changes color distinctly as the nominal temperature is reached.

Digi-Temp EZ’s unique color changes are reversible, which means that the color obtained and maintained will turn black as the temperature is reversed. Single color change (EZ) thermochromic labels can be ascending or descending, ie they can change from black to a given color as the temperature rises or black to a color as the temperature decreases.

    How it works:

Temperature sensitive elements contain TLC molecules that are very sensitive to temperature and change their arrangement in response to temperature changes. This change in molecular geometry affects the way TLC interacts with light, resulting in a change in the color of each temperature event. When the nominal temperature of an indicator is reached, TLC changes its shape from reflector (color) to non-reflective (black) or vice versa. This causes the color to change with the temperature event.
